World leader in the industrial and energy explosion protection market
Founded in 1984, the STIF Group is a French industrial player recognized for its expertise in the design, manufacture and marketing of innovative industrial equipment intended for niche markets.
Historically positioned in handling equipment for bulk products — such as elevator buckets, lifting slings and compression fittings — the family group has, over the years, diversified its activities.
For about ten years, STIF has established itself as a major player in passive protection against the risks of industrial dust explosions , and since 2022, in the protection of battery energy storage systems (BESS) .
Today, the Group has nearly 400 employees and is continuing its international development thanks to two strategic acquisitions carried out in 2025.
- STUVEX , a Belgian company specializing in active explosion prevention and suppression systems ;
- BOSS Products , its long-standing American partner , is an expert in explosion protection solutions for the North American markets.
With internationally certified and referenced product ranges, a robotic production tool adapted to the manufacture of large series on 3 continents and a global sales network established with major clients, the Group intends to become a global player in industrial and energy security, in Europe and internationally .
A word from the President
"Positioned in international markets exhibiting solid and sustainable growth levels, with a growing need for securing industrial spaces and BESS [1] against explosion risks, STIF intends to continue accelerating its development in the coming years with several ranges of certified passive and active explosion protection solutions that perfectly meet the demands of major players in industry and renewable energy. The two recent acquisitions support our growth strategy, and we aim to achieve a pro forma revenue of €200 million and an EBITDA margin exceeding 20% "

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS): A new market experiencing exponential growth
A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), in French "Système de Stockage d'Énergie par Batterie", is a technology that uses rechargeable batteries to store intermittent electricity produced by solar or wind farms and release it as needed.
BESS plays a key role in enabling the storage of electricity produced by renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power. BESS also allows for better management of electricity grids, particularly in the context of renewable energy integration, grid stabilization, and demand management.
The BESS can store excess electricity produced during periods of low demand or high renewable energy production. Later, during periods of high demand or low renewable energy availability, the stored energy can be discharged into the grid to help meet electricity demand or stabilize the power supply.
BESS (Bio-Electric System Security) devices can experience thermal runaway, leading to explosions and fires. STIF's passive explosion protection equipment, under the Vigilex Energy brand, prevents the spread of explosions and fires.
measures in industrial environments
Dust explosions represent a major risk in many industrial sectors, particularly in the food processing and wood industries, sectors in which STIF has been active for about fifteen years. Industrial safety relies on a comprehensive approach.
Explosions occur when combustible dust is suspended in the air and an ignition source is present.
Industrial protective measures help prevent workplace accidents, protect workers' health, and secure facilities. They aim to reduce risks related to machinery, chemicals, electricity, and fires.
A sound prevention policy protects employees while improving company performance.
STIF has created a Vigilex Industrie division and developed ATEX-certified protective devices, such as exposure vents that open in case of overpressure to release the explosion wave. STIF offers a complete range of passive and active protective equipment.
