STIF, the explosion protection specialist

Founded in 1984, the STIF Group is a French industrial player recognized for its expertise in the design, manufacture and marketing of innovative industrial equipment intended for niche markets.

Historically positioned in handling equipment for bulk products — such as elevator buckets, lifting slings and compression fittings — the family group has, over the years, diversified its activities.

For about ten years, STIF has established itself as a major player in passive protection against the risks of industrial dust explosions , and since 2022, in the protection of battery energy storage systems (BESS) .

Today, the Group has more than 350 employees and continues its international development thanks to two strategic acquisitions:

  • STUVEX , a Belgian company specializing in active explosion prevention and suppression systems ;
  • BOSS Products , its long-standing American partner , is an expert in explosion protection solutions for North American markets.

With these complementary expertise, three factories spread across France, Asia and soon the United States , and globally recognized product ranges , STIF affirms its ambition: to become an international leader in industrial safety and explosion protection solutions , serving a safer and more sustainable , closely linked to the growth of the renewable energy .

A word from the President

“After 40 years of existence, STIF is today beginning a new cycle of strong growth with its new range of products dedicated to protection against explosions of BESS [1] , for the storage of renewable energies. The number of installations is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years, with capacities increasing fivefold by 2030 [2] . With internationally recognized expertise in the manufacturing of anti-explosion dust panels, the Group intends to establish itself sustainably in this related market. Several references to leading BESS manufacturers have already been obtained. They will contribute to the growth of our turnover with the ambition of reaching €80 million by 2027. We have strong ambitions and are very happy to solicit the stock markets to support the strong development of our group. I hope that our project will attract your attention and that we will be able to count you among our future shareholders, for the emergence of a world expert in protection against explosions in industrial environments and in renewable energies. »

The Battery Energy Storage system (BESS): a new market growing exponentially

A Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), translated into French as “Battery Energy Storage System”, is a technology that uses rechargeable batteries to store intermittent electricity produced by solar or wind farms and release it in depending on needs. BESS plays a key role enabling the storage of electricity produced by renewable energies such as solar and wind. BESS also enables better management of electricity networks, particularly in the context of the integration of renewable energies, grid stabilization and demand management. BESS can store excess electricity produced during periods of low demand or high renewable energy production. Later, during periods of high demand or low availability of renewable energy, stored energy can be discharged into the grid to help meet electricity demand or to stabilize the power supply.

BESSs can be subject to thermal runaway causing an explosion and fire. STIF's explosion protection equipment, under the Vigilex Energy brand, helps prevent the spread of an explosion and fire.
